About AWP-Operating
AWP Operating Company was incorporated in November 1992 by Joe Dishron and son, Barney Dishron, to operate oil and gas producing properties in South Texas and the Texas Gulf Coast. The Company currently operates 92 wells in McMullen, Webb, Live Oak, Duval, and Frio Counties. AWP specializes in drilling and completion of wells in the Olmos Formation but also has significant experience in the Frio, Vicksburg, Yegua, Hockley, Pettus, Queen City, and Wilcox Formations. Joe Dishron graduated from the University of Houston in 1960 with degrees in Petroleum Engineering and Math. Joe had an extensive and exciting career working the oil fields from the Gulf of Mexico to the Arctic Circle and most points in between. He was Vice President of Drilling and Production with Burnett Oil Company in Fort Worth, Texas, which drilled the discovery well in the AWP (Olmos) Field, McMullen County, Texas.
