Awareness Through Movement

Georgia Freedman Junker began to appreciate the Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education through her personal journey of rehabilitation from chronic pain. This embodied experience, and the improved organization of her self-use, inspired her to become a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practioner, exploring the Methods rehabilitative, preventative, and ne... uro-muscular repatterning potential. She explores how movement and mindful-awareness can deepen the connection to oneself, in both the physical and the psychological aspects of ones daily life. By working with a diverse group of people including artists, athletes, seniors, dancers, therapists, writers and children, Georgia continues to gain insights into how to help people move better and feel better on a practical level. Her experience as a biologist, visual artist, outdoors-woman and mother deepen her perspective on moving freely and living well. Georgia currently has a private practice in Silver Lake Los Angeles, offering one-on-one, hands on manual therapy and also teaches group, Awareness Through Movement lessons in the community.
