Avery's Village is a Youth Residential Care (YRC II) 24-hour facility with open access to the surrounding Wyandotte County community designed to provide activities and services for the care, protection and development of foster youth to achieve a higher level of functioning and healthier relationships. Mrs. Beverly Avery [President and CEO] was a professional child care provider who became a licensed childcare provider. In 2007 she became a state-certified foster parent and ten years later was looking for ways to help youth more than just with a single foster home. Her son, Frederick Avery [Vice President and CFO] was a finance and business development professional with a B.S. in business administration from the Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Frederick had extensive professional experience in the financial services and real estate industries and worked with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City where he developed an interest in mentoring and making positive changes in youths lives. Working together these two founders envisioned, researched, created, labored and established Avery's Village as a safe and enriching haven for foster youth. Today, they are passionately working to help youth on a journey towards a brighter future.
