The Aurora Library Management System was designed and developed in Australia by Aurora Information Technology (AIT). We focus on innovative software development exclusively for the Library marketplace and we back this up with strong customer support. AIT has been in business since January 1996 and we have grown progressively and incrementally from... a small start-up software company to being a major Australian LMS vendor. It's taken some years, but given a fair opportunity to compete, we can take on and win new business in Open Tender against the world's largest LMS vendors. When we started, designed and built our LMS software from scratch, with our own money, our first customers were small public libraries so we were categorized as having a solution for small libraries. That's changed progressively and in recent years we have won larger and larger customers in open tender. Our customers now include The Shorelink Consortium, City of Sydney, City of Melbourne, Rural Libraries Queensland Consortium and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Shorelink and ABC have close to a million items each and Shorelink has more than 200 workstations so you can see we've come a long way for a small local company. Many larger LMS vendors are only still in business through their customers being afraid or unwilling to move forward to a new LMS or because of the ease of not going to tender.
