Athens College

Athens College was established in the mid 1920's by two groups of progressively minded philanthropists, one in Greece and one in the United States of America. They formed two distinct but interlinked organizations in Greece- "The Hellenic American Educational Foundation (HAEF)" popularly known as Athens College, represented by the Board of Director... s and "The Trustees of Athens College in Greece," in the state of New York, know as The Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees in the U.S. participate equally with the Board of Directors in Greece in setting strategic direction and in making major strategic decisions. In addition, the Board of Trustees manage the endowment, coordinate U.S. development, recruit and compensate the American President and administer many U.S.-based programs including faculty development and fundraising. The U.S. Board of Trustees as a whole represents a variety of professional and academic disciplines. The Trustees are the standard bearers of the school's mission. They provide both guidance and resources to further the work of school and ensure its future.
