ATFC Madeiras é Agricultura Lda is an integrated forestry and agriculture company operating in the districts of Namaroi, Milange and Gurue situated in Zambezia Province, Mozambique. The key focus of the enterprise is to develop 127,000 ha of land in these districts for the establishment of 50,000 ha of commercial forestry, a cattle enterprise and l... egume production. ATFC is committed to undertake these developments in accordance with sustainable environmental practice therefor 30,000 ha will be managed as natural sustainable ecosystems. The socio-economic integration of the ATFC operations in accordance with guidance received from the Government of Mozambique and our participating communities, forms a key part of strategic and operational decision-making. The enterprise will be developed over a ten year process and once in full production will employee 1,250 staff. The sourcing and development of staff from our participating communities forms a key part of the ATFC long term human capital development plan. In addition to employment ATFC will facilitates the creation of community benefit funds, to be managed by the communities who entrusted their land to the ATFC development. The community benefit funds is financed on a net profit share formula based on the area allocated by the respective communities and distributable funds allocated by community elected structures to desired benefits or infrastructure development. Further community beneficiation are created through community outgrower schemes, intercropping contracts, economy of scale marketing mechanisms, infrastructure development and small business development through outsourced contracts.
