While our name is new, our roots trace back to 1946 when Christy Orriss grandfather started Acrometal which became the ATEK Companies. In 2003, Kay Phillips and Christy launched ATEK Medical when it acquired Medtronics Cardiac Surgery plant based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This acquisition took the facility and all 200+ employees private and on the journey of being transformed from a plant to one of the leading outsource manufacturers in the space.
