Asterand Bioscience researchers include: Research samples come from a network of over 75 collection sites around the world. All samples from living donors are collected under an Institutional Review Board ( IRB ) or other ethics committee supervision. All of Asterand Biosciences living-donor Protocols and Informed Consent Forms (ICF) adhere to all applicable requirements listed in the Common Rule (U.S. 45 CRF 46 ) guidelines. All of Asterand Biosciences ICFs include: authorization for use by commercial and not-for-profit researchers, the risks and benefits of participation, and the ability to withdraw from the study. Most of Asterand Bioscience ICFs also allow for genetic testing/use and sharing of research data in non-public databases. Postmortem samples are consented for research/education use by the study subject prior to death or by the legal next of kin after death. No tissues, cells, or fluids collected by Asterand Bioscience will be implanted into living humans or used for cloning, cosmetic, or military research.Read More
