Aspire Mentoring

ASpire Mentoring has developed a bespoke service aimed at supporting the emotional needs of children and young people to help reduce the risk of social exclusion, whilst also offering support for all Parents/Carers and Families alike. ASpire was founded in 2008 by myself (Lead Mentor) Andy Samuels, having worked in Birmingham schools for over 5 yea... rs I felt there was a clear defined gap in services offered to young people, boys in-particular. I felt passionately that all vulnerable young people deserved to be offered the chance to be heard and supported. Reflecting on my previous experience as a Child Counsellor for a national charity and working as a Mentor in Birmingham I found clear evidence that young boys are more likely to underachieve and not reach their full potential. Often due to not being able to express themselves emotionally, resulting in expressions of anger and aggression. I found I was able to provide a positive role model particularly to young boys with remarkable outcomes, this inspired me to develop a service that will make a real difference to lives of all young people in the community and their families.
