StarSpirit International, Inc. is a non-profit, 501 C3 organization with a mission to: disseminate authentic traditional African culture, provide counseling, and deliver holistic education to redress damaging misinformation and myths about the historically enslaved and dispersed people of Africa; and, to sponsor international cultural exchanges and... activities that foster health, education, and global economic development. The benefits of this mission include healing wounds to identity and the empowerment of individuals, families, and communities to engage in self-determination of their own social, cultural, educational, health, and economic development. StarSpirit International, Inc. is also an official public charity and a non-governmental organization (NGO) in roster consultative status with the economic and social council of the United Nations. What are the guiding principles of StarSpirit International Inc.? StarSpirit International, Inc. is guided by the following principles: 1) people of African descent should be connected with each other, despite historical forced separation, and experience reconnection with authentic traditional African culture; 2) people of African descent have resources that need to be exchanged across communities to foster health, education, and global economic development; 3) holistic education and counseling can serve as tools to heal wounds to identity and empower individuals, families and communities to engage in self-determination; 4) the process of reconnecting with the indigenous people and authentic traditional culture of Africa, exchanging resources, and fostering health, education and global economic development must be done in close consultation with indigenous community leaders to ensure protection/preservation of sacred ancestral areas, historical sites, land, water, and other natural resources essential to the indigenous way of life.
