Arts Sojourn

An Arts Sojourn is neither a guided tour nor a conventional artists' workshop. We provide a unique facilitated Italian vacation experience for artists and non-artists who share an adventurous spirit. We equip and assist our discerning clients to experience Italy firsthand, just as we do, not through the eyes of a hired guide or the window of a tour... bus. Although our Sojourns are impeccably planned and supported we intentionally keep the dynamics of both the painting workshop and travel group loose to afford participants as much freedom as possible. Our goal is to enable you to become a confident and capable traveler, even if it's your first time away from home. Arts Sojourn has been operating continuously since 1999. We have nearly twenty years of Italian travel experience and are specialists in cultural travel to Italy. We are truly expert in the regions that we visit, able to equip you with practical information and resources that you won't find in even the best travel guides. Participating artists will recognize that Matthew Daub's professional credentials are truly exceptional among workshop instructors. We make all the travel arrangements ourselves without relying on consolidators or travel agents. We deal directly with the management of our favorite hotels and restaurants, carefully evaluating the quality of the facilities, the service, and the care and demeanor of the staff. This process is a very personal one and we enjoy doing it. We are very thorough in planning every aspect of the logistics of our Sojourns and you will notice that immediately when you travel with us. Even the most dedicated painters don't paint all day long so we consider the non-artistic needs of our Sojourners an equal priority when we select our locations.
