Art Zone has been the brainchild of Svetlana Belotserkovskaya, local professional artist and art instructor, for over 17 years now. Art Zone offers art classes for a range of mediums to kids, teens, and adults of any age. The youngest student is 6 years old and the oldest so far has been 70+! More about Svetlana: Born in Yaroslavl , an ancient Russ... ian city on the Volga River, Svetlana developed her unique talent starting at an early age when her parents signed her up for art classes at the local art school. Her love of art grew, so she continued on to pursue her dream to be an artist. Svetlana went on to earn her bachelors degree in art first at Yaroslavl Art College in Russia and later received a second degree in Studio Art in the USA at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She is now working towards a Masters in Art Education from the University of Florida. Svetlana puts her heart into her art classes, becoming not just a teacher but also a role model and mother figure to many of the kids, teens, and even adults in her art classes. Here, she worked for a while as a graphic designer. However, throughout her life, drawing and painting the world around her had always been her first passion. So, soon after the big move, she began participating in Art Shows around the South and creating portraits, murals, and custom paintings for people to enjoy. One day, a customer approached her asking if she offered art classes. This new idea stayed with her, and in 2002, Svetlana finally began opening her studio to children, teens, and adults who wanted to learn.
