About Art in Context

We provide entertaining and stimulating lectures rich in historical contextual information as well as luminous visual imagery. Annalee Andres founded Art in Context in 2012 as a way to share her passion for art history and travel. She fell in love with the subject while taking classes with TJ Clark at UC Berkeley. In graduate school, she studied Modern Art at the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU under feminist scholar Linda Nochlin. Her poetic lectures were inspiring and continue to serve as a model for Annalees presentation style. After working at LACMAs Contemporary and Modern Department, Annalee began teaching at Pasadena City College where she has taught Art History since 2006 as an Adjunct Assistant Professor.
