Armstrong Tool, LLC was founded on May 25,2006. The owner, Larry Armstrong and his wife Gail initially founded the company in 1964 as Armstrong Tool and Supply in Wiser, Oklahoma. It grew to five stores before selling out to PETCO (Petroleum Equipment Tool Company) in 1980; including Mr. Armstrong as Executive Vise President, COO and a member of th... e board. In 1992, Mr. Armstrong established Armstrong Tool, Inc. specializing in operating fishing tools, rental and equipment sales. On May 25, 2006 Armstrong Tool, LLC was founded acquiring all of the assets of Armstrong Tool, Inc. and combining the hydraulic services located n Carmi, Illinois. Armstrong Tool, LLC opened two rental and fishing tool stores in McAlester, Oklahoma and Conway, Arkansas to provide equipment and services to rapidly expanding shale gas plays in this region. The company also purchased additional equipment for both the existing Van Buren, Arkansas and Carmi, Illinois locations. In March 2011, the company opened a new store in El Reno, Oklahoma to service new drilling and work overs driven by high oil prices. Due to prices of natural gas and the ability of Armstrong to service the Fayetteville shale and Woodford shale from its store in Van Buren, the company elected to close the store in McAlester, Oklahoma and move all of its equipment to El Reno, Oklahoma to take advantage of new projects being developed for production of oil and natural gas liquids. The company believes gas prices will increase in the next 24 to 36 months and will be able to service the increased activity in the Fayetteville shale and Woodford shale from Van Buren and Greenbrier.Read More
