ARCHIVE-CD, LLC, established in 1983 as Network Associates, had its beginnings as a consulting firm for healthcare solutions. The company provided consultation and presentations to colleges, universities, national professional organizations and healthcare institutions. Requests for computer assistance, coupled with an identified need for document a... nd record management, storage, and retrieval lead to the development of ARCHIVE-CD, LLC and Paperless Archiving Solutions. Why did we choose such a "boring" job? As a Registered Nurse (RN) and a rural hospital administrator the accumulation and storage of paper was a constant challenge. As an example, new born baby records had to be kept for at least 21 years. Other example include education where some records are required to be kept up to 75 years. It is recommended that individual tax records be kept for a period of 7 years with some documents being retained forever. An attorney neighbor was building a new office building. One-third of the new building was reserved for record storage. Space that could have been used to produce revenue held rows of filing cabinets. An accountant stored his records in a small metal shed that was frequently broken into and tax records lost, stolen, or destroyed. Fortunately, changing laws and enhanced computer applications make it possible to cost effectively bring document management, record storage and retrieval to a variety of businesses, city and county governments, small and medium business, education and healthcare institutions.
