With this limited time window and growing demand, there is a need for a solution that preserves the tissues and organs and cells for a significantly longer period for the benefit of physicians, scientists and patients around the world. Aqix Ltd have developed the product, Aqix, which gives up to 72 hours of storage/transport time for all types of human biopsied tissues, thus adding a further 48 hours more transport time to enable delivery to international destinations. Extending the viable storage periods and transportation times by 66% will enable access to a much wider range of people in need and will facilitate an expansion in the use of live samples for vital research. Aqix can currently only be used for laboratory research purposes only. It is used in the storage and transport of cells and tissue biopsies and normothermic perfusion of tissues and non-transplantable, human donor organs for use in new drug design bioassay investigations.
