Android Studio

The first version of Mr. Brewer's web site has been scheduled for launch on September 1, 2020. Mr. Brewer's web site will be an eclectic collection of projects. While they will reflect Mr. Brewer's interests and beliefs, they primarily are serving as practice projects while Mr. Brewer learns web development first, and subsequently, mobile app devel... opment for Android. Plans are fluid, but I am starting by refreshing/updating my skills on HTML, then learning CSS, and then moving on to JavaScript. I'll be evaluating use of Android Studio, Java, Python and Kotlin in 2021, but time enough for that later. Right now, I don't even have a handle on how Android Studio relates to the languages. If you stumble across this web site, please don't share it with anyone. It's really just for practice. I have "enrolled" in Codecademy. I completed my first class on August 16, a series of six lessons covering the basics of HTML5. This ws really just a refresher for me of the HTML3.2 that I learned 20 years ago. Not much has changed of the basics, and it came back to me pretty easily. This took me two days. On August 22, I completed the tenth and final lesson of CSS3. There are a million properties and combinations of properties to apply to elements, but the concepts are very logical and straightforward. I will spend a few weeks - maybe all of September - practicing with CSS on this page and the connected projects trying to embed in my brain the usage of the most commonly used properties in various situations.
