Andres Escobar & Associates was founded in 1989 and quickly became one of Montreal's recognized design firms. In 2001, the company won the competition for the conversion of The Gretsch Gitar Factory in Brooklyn into condominiums, which became Escobar's first project in the 5 boroughs of New York. It then opened the door to almost a dozen projects i... n Brooklyn such as Williamsburg at 214 North 11th Street (2004), 55 Berry (2004), The Rialto (2005), 80 Metropolitan Ave (2008); and Dumbo at Front Street (2004), 99 Gold (2004) and J Condominiums (2005). Escobar also designed the first boutique hotel ever in the borough, Hotel Le Bleu (2007) in Gowanus. The firm has expanded its portfolio in the New York Metropolitan Area by completing several projects in Long Island City and Jersey City. The two most significant Manhattan projects are TheChelsea Club Condos in Chelsea (2007) and The Olcott at 27 W 72nd Street (2007) on the Upper West Side. Other projects are The Adagio Condos (2007), Sessanta Rental Building (2007) and the first LEED project in that neighborhood, TheHarsen House (2007). The firm's earlier projects are the lobby of TheNew York Times Building (2007), offices for Kriss & Feuerstein LLP (2007) and Mercer Greene in SoHo and Merritt House on the Upper East Side (2009), Staybridge Suites (2010). The firm has been completing projects in the New York area for almost 11 years. With projects in cities such as New York, Miami, Montreal, Abu Dhabi and beyond, Andres Escobar & Associates continues to push the boundaries of design.
