Anderson Appraisal has been serving the Amarillo, Canyon and northern Panhandle area of Texas since 1983. Jim C Anderson began appraising Real Estate in that year under the oversight of a very respected MAI appraiser here in Amarillo. An apprenticeship of 7 years under a very respected SRA appraiser, gave a very solid back ground for working in tod... ay's markets. The early years were very rewarding due to the majority of appraisal inspection were of FHA and / or REO. These were the tuff times of the mid and late 80's. Many appraisers went on to find other work avenues due to the difficulty and lack of work during this time, but we found this to be a very rewarding time to learn and understand the need for solid quality appraisers to help people through difficult times as well as the good times. We have grown over the years and our education has been ongoing so we would be able to serve our Lenders and Clients with the best of our knowledge and skills. Our staff has grown and our market has been extended out to cover more than just the Mortgage Lender. We now service many legal offices with Probate, Private Sale and Divorce appraisals. Our fields of work have now extended to the private sector into the area of For Sale by Owner in helping establish an asking price and the items needed to bring the dwelling to the highest value condition. The current investment buyers use our skills to make decisions about purchasing properties for re habing and placing a property back on the market for a profit.
