AmeriLink International was founded by Andre Savrimoutou in May 1993. Prior to coming to the US in 1973, Andre had lived in colonial Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika/Zanzibar), East Africa, for 13 years and Mauritius, a small island off Madagascar, for 7 years. After completing his undergraduate studies at Northern Illinois University in marketing and... graduate education at Thunderbird in Arizona, Andre accepted account representative positions with logistics companies TNT Skypak and, later, DHL Worldwide Express. Andre's career in the floral industry started when he began importing anthuriums from Mauritius and offering them to wholesalers in the Chicago area. Among his first customers were the Roy Houff Company, Kennicott Brothers and Platz Wholesale and several others in the New York metro area. Today, our consolidations are shipped directly to Chicago, broken down and then shipped to our customers by the carrier of their choice. Since Amerilink only works with pre-orders, there are no inventories or product rotations. This means our customers are guaranteed fresh flowers every time.
