We believe that we have an obligation to protect our environment. Through recycling we keep potentially hazardous materials out of landfills and help to preserve their limited space. By turning obsolete materials into new products, recycling can protect natural resources, save energy and reduce greenhouse gases. We also believe that we play a major... role in our local community. We do so through sponsorship of local organizations and events, donations of reusable items to local schools, churches and institutions and through financial contributions to charities. AmeriCycle started in the spring of 2000 when the company took over an existing recycling facility, which operated in Hainesport for more than 40 years. The existing 5 acre facility was cleaned of glass, tires and other debris, which had accumulated over the years. Since then, we have added a 70 foot truck scale and various pieces of recycling machinery. The equipment is used to aid customers in unloading and in processing metals to prepare them for remelt and recycling.
