Gonzales founded American Eagle Glass company in Harlingen, TX, in 1992. Combined with their previous businesses, they have over 50 years experience in the industry. As esteemed leaders in their community, this husband & wife duo immediately made an impact on the Harlingen scene upon their arrival from Houston. Leslie almost immediately won the 198... 0 Mexican-American Chamber of Commerce "Businessman of the Year Award," while Angie went on to serve the community through several local organizations, including the Harlingen Housing Authority (Commissioner), the Mexican-American Chamber of Commerce (Vice-President), the Confederate Air Force (Colonel), and the Optimist Club. She also served as the Director of the Miss Harlingen Pageant for ten years and she is recognized as an ongoing, honorary Harlingen Chamber of Commerce Ambassador due to her many years of service. Because of her work and dedication to the Housing Authority over the years, Angie has forever been memorialized through the "Angie Gonzales Community Hall", located on the grounds of the Sunset Terrace Housing Community. Today, Angie is retired and Leslie has gone home to be with His Lord, but the family legacy lives on as their youngest son, Rev. Leslie Gonzales, an ordained Baptist minister, has taken over the helm of the business with his wife. Together, they continue to serve the greater South Texas region through their strong values of excellence and quality of care.
