Tony Rose is an NAACP Image Award Winner and the Publisher/CEO of Amber Communications Group, Inc., the nations largest African-American Publisher of Self-Help Books and Music Biographies and an NAACP Image Award Winner for Outstanding Literature; The 2015 First Read Expo Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Literary Work and Leadership; The... Los Angeles Leimert Park Book Fair-Jessie Redmon Fauset Book Awards, African American Book Publisher of the Year; and, The Harlem Book Fair-Phillis Wheatley Book Awards, African American Book Publisher of the Year. In February 1996, Tony Rose bought a book called How to Self-Publish Your Book by Dan Poynter, and decided to publish a book that he and his wife, Yvonne had written, Is Modeling For You: The Handbook and Guide for the Young Aspiring Black Model. He set up a DBA in Los Angeles and called the new company, Amber Books. Is Modeling For You: The Handbook and Guide for the Young Aspiring Black Model was published in September 1997 and The Roses went on a cross-country tour to meet and promote the book to bookstores, distributors, wholesalers, and organizations. Is Modeling For You has sold, as of 2017, over 80,000 books. Today, Tony Rose is the Publisher and CEO of Amber Communications Group, Inc. (ACGI) the nations largest African-American publisher of Self-Help Books and Music Biographies. ACGIs imprints include: the award winning Amber Books Publishing; Colossus Books Music Biographies; Retro Books Old School Music Biographies; Amber/Wiley Books Self Help and Financial Books Co-Published with John Wiley & Sons Inc. /Turner Publishing, and Amber/Tom Joyner Books Co-Publishing with the Tom Joyner Foundation..
