ALTERED IMAGE was founded in June of 1996 by Eric Bilajbegovic Sana, a young Entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in the fashion business. The first location was in an IGA (Sobeys) store in Oakville. The new concept of having alterations done while shopping for groceries was a great hit, and ALTERED IMAGE became a local attraction very qui... ckly. Favourable exposure in the local press added to ALTERED IMAGE's popularity, and in 1997 Eric was a finalist in a New Entrepreneur of the Year competition. Due to our success, expansion to new, high visibility locations became a logical step. The challenge was to expand, while maintaining our uniqueness, dedication and high level of personalized Customer satisfaction. In 1998 ALTERED IMAGE entered into an agreement with the Eaton's organization, taking over the function of Eaton's Alterations Department, establishing an operation in the Eaton's Yorkdale store and an additional two locations in the Toronto Eaton Centre. The Yorkdale operation provided alteration services for 18 Eaton's stores. ALTERED IMAGE was invited into Loblaws resulting in various Loblaws locations. The move from Eaton's to the Bay was a natural transition. Wanting to offer their customers enhanced value, the Bay invited Altered Image to do the alterations and tailoring within some of their department stores. This provides convenience and quality service for the customer, whilst mutually benefiting the Bay and Altered Image.
