As health care reform brings new opportunities to improve the lives of individuals who are often forgotten, my personal goal is keep Alliance's focus on recovery and continue to improve Alliance's quality of service, while leading the agency through changes in Alliance's community. Through the dedication of Alliance's professional and compassionate staff, Alliance serves more than 3,000 individuals and families each year throughout the metro area. Alliance's continuum of services addresses a wide range of needs among people living with mental illness and developmental disabilities, as well as veteran families facing homelessness. As an agency, Alliance is committed to the concept of recovery. Alliance focuses on individual strengths and preferences, empowering people to achieve their goals whether related to housing, employment, health, or greater independence. Services are provided in the community. People who in the past may have lingered in hospitals, jails, or nursing homes are now living independently in Alliance's neighborhoods, as they should.
