Alison Unsworth

She has worked with multiple partners to realise art and design projects, including architects, arts organisations, local authorities, galleries, museums, healthcare providers, community groups, artists, designers and illustrators. Alison has recently managed art and design in healthcare programmes on behalf of Ginkgo Projects and Wide Open. She co... ordinates the Alexandra Reinhardt Memorial Award on behalf of Engage, the National Association for Gallery Education. Alison is a qualified project manager (Prince 2 Practitioner)and action learning facilitator (accredited by ILM). Her experience builds on a strong track record as a visual artist, having successfully delivered exhibitions, commissions for building interiors and temporary works in the public realm. Alison worked as an artist educator for over fifteen years. She has delivered over 200 sessions with children, young people and adults in galleries, museums, schools and community settings, facilitating practical activities such as drawing, sculpture and animation; leading gallery visits and group discussions; and using the methodologies of enquiry led learning, philosophy for children, and the development of creative and critical thinking skills. Alison worked as a freelance artist for the learning team at Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art from 2002 to 2017. She delivers arts continuing professional development training for teachers and others involved in gallery education.
