Welcome to Alberto Isaacs official web page. Alberto Isaac is a veteran award-winning actor/director based in Los Angeles. After receiving a Masters Degree in Drama from California State University, L.A. (where he won acting and directing awards), he became associated with the renowned Asian American theatre company, East West Players, appearing in... , and directing many of their productions, as well as functioning, for several years, as literary manager. His direction of such East West Players productions as ART, THE MAIDS, PERFORMANCE ANXIETY, STATION J, AND THE SOUL SHALL DANCE and YANKEE DAWG, YOU DIE received critical acclaim and many awards. Other directing credits include CLAIM TO FAME, TROJAN WOMEN, 10 TO LIFE (Lodestone Theatre); and the world premieres of Ken Narasakis NO-NO BOY, INNOCENT WHEN YOU DREAM and GHOSTS AND BAGGAGE. As an actor he appeared in dozens of East West productions, including EQUUS (Mr. Strang), THE THREE SISTERS (Tusenbach), RASHOMON (the Wigmaker), PACIFIC OVERTURES (Shoguns Mother, French Admiral), TWELFTH NIGHT (Feste) and ACCOMPLICE (Derek). He appeared in the world premiere of Jessica Hagedorns DOGEATERS at La Jolla Playhouse in the double roles of Senator Avila and Uncle, which he later reprised in the Center Theatre Group production at the Kirk Douglas. Other world premieres he has appeared in include Daniel Therriaults THE WHITE DEATH at The Cast Theatre and Alice Tuans LAST OF THE SUNS and Philip Kan Gotandas FISH HEAD SOUP at Berkeley Rep. He also recreated the role of Papa in the latter play in the Seattle production at A Contemporary Theatre. Other regional theatres he has appeared in include Mark Taper Forum (MADE IN BANGKOK), Odyssey Theatre (BLOOD WEDDING), A Noise Within (IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST), Lodestone Theatre Ensemble (TRAPEZOID, ROMEO AND JULIET) and Studio Theatre in Washington, D.C., in the critically acclaimed revival of Gotandas THE WASH.
