This includes managing all aspects of the presentation ceremony for the federal medal, and we strive to do so in a manner befitting this honour awarded on behalf of the Canadian Crown. The Committee also assists Alberta Municipal Affairs with validation of EMS nominations for the Alberta Emergency Services Medal and subsequent Bars awarded on behal... f of the Government of Alberta. The Committee does not coordinate presentation ceremonies for the provincial medal as this is the responsibility of the nominating authority. Please note: The Alberta EMS Awards Committee does not automatically nominate people to receive the Medals. Nominations are best coordinated by peers and employers willing to prepare a quality nomination package that reflects the service of the individual being recognized. Incomplete or inadequate nomination packages will be declined and returned to the nominator. The independent committee consists of eight members from a cross section of the paramedic profession in Alberta.
