Western Pioneer, Inc. and its family of service companies have served the commercial fishing industry and western Alaska communities since 1972. As a family owned and operated company, the business began shipping freight to and from Dutch Harbor and the Aleutian Islands. Western Pioneer freighters carried supplies and groceries north bound in support of growing Alaskan communities and were a necessary supply link for fishing vessels working the waters of western Alaska. Frozen crab, salmon and cod were carried to markets in Seattle on the return trip. In the 1980's the company expanded to include a fuel and a ship supply store division. Today the Company operates as Alaska Ship Supply, Western Alaska's premier retailer of goods and services. We are a vital supply link for the commercial fishing fleet and proudly serve the community and fishing fleet in Dutch Harbor and Unalaska, Alaska. We feature a full supply of groceries, top quality fruits, vegetables and meat. We also offer liquor, clothing, fishing gear, marine hardware & service, bait, crew supplies, sea store cigarettes and auto parts & service.
