Akvaplan-niva aims to be the market leader in its fields and has as such a strong commitment to quality and innovation. The company and its close partners (Unilab Analyse and NIVA) have implemented quality assurance according to ISO 9001 standards. We have laboratories which are accredited according NS-EN 17025 for a large range of chemical and bio... logical analyses. Akvaplan-niva is one of few laboratories that is accredited for environmental monitoring of offshore oil and gas installations on the Norwegian shelf (monitoring of sediments and benthos communities). Akvaplan-niva is certified according to NS-EN 45004 as an inspection company, to carry out technical inspections of floating aquaculture structures. We are a leading partner in the development of national and international standards in our working fields and are involved in several international projects on harmonisation, implementation and intercalibration of procedures for environmental monitoring and assessments. In order to maintain its position at the forefront of technological developments and knowledge, Akvaplan-niva is involved in applied and basic research projects and maintains strong ties with leading scientific institutes and businesses worldwide. Most of our employees have business and/or research experience and we are regularly host for exchange students from a number of different countries.
