Akhane Construction was established in 2002 as a building contracting and civil engineering company , owned 30% on an unencumbered basis by the Abbeydale Workers Trust. Since then the company has done R2,1 bn worth of work in South Africa , executed 5 cross border contracts and has transformed itself to now be 51% Black owned with a CIDB grading of... GB8 and a BBEEE level 4 rating ( New Construction Code) . The company employs a high percentage of in house skills and owns 80% of the plant required over a period of average turnover. Internally we focus on delivering old fashioned quality and customer satisfaction. Externally the company is known for it's unconfrontational contracting style and a "can do" attitude from both management and staff. Commercially the company enjoys a high level of business ethics , never having compromised those values , despite the well documented prevalence of graft and dishonest tender practises which been a characteristic of the Construction Industry of late.
