Affluent Designs

When I was a kid, my dad taught me the value of having and cultivating your skills in such a way that you dont spend most of your life trading time for money. This simple idea lead me to pursue things I was passionate about, and find ways to earn money doing them. I have been selling things Ive made since the 6th grade. Ive sold anywhere from paper... throwing stars (at the annoyance of many of my teachers) to custom drawn bookmarks. It was those experiences that solidified in me that I had the ability to create, not just work. I started Affluent Designs after my first year of college. I figured I would seek out clients looking for design work at little to no cost in order to get a feel for what client work was like. Book exercises cant beat real-world experience. After a few years and many projects, my time at college came to an end and I dove full-time into illustrating. I found a niche in doing illustrating for gaming servers, specifically Minecraft, which stemmed from a nearly two-year long stint as a Minecraft YouTuber. Before I knew it, I was working on logos, character drawings, store icons, and full on illustrated websites. While illustration work is something I still love doing, it only makes up a small portion of the total work I do. My main day-to-day work consists mostly of print and layout design. The majority of my work comes from church contracts including the one I attend myself, 12Stone Church. When Im not working, I like to play basketball, serve at my church, tinker with electronics, and learn new skills. I am incredibly blessed by God to not only be able to do something I love as a job, but to have the support of my family and friends.
