Aerial Advantage was established by, Anthony Shorten, an experienced aerial photographer and cinematographer and Mark Slater, a night rated helicopter pilot specialising in aerial filming. Our first mission was to satisfy the growing market for helicopter based professional aerial photography and cinematography. After building a reputable business... servicing the helicopter aerial film and photo market, we recognised the low-level aerial photography and filming market was on the cusp of a technological revolution. Instead of entering this field using existing techniques (blimp/ pole), we decided innovation was the only way forward. Our initial push into the drone sector hit full swing in 2011 and after 2 years of working with CASA we became one of the first companies in Australia to offer both CASA certified drone and helicopter services. Today our drone services have grown to become a daily part of our operations. Our continuing focus is providing fast professional service no matter what camera platform or type of aerial work we undertake. As of the start of 2016, we are excited to announce the merger of Aerial Advantage and Millars Photographic Service. MPS was established in 1959, making it South East Queensland's oldest commercial photography business. For six decades MPS has recognised aerial imagery as a key component for commercial photography. After embracing the transition from film to digital, MPS continued to adapt to advancements in camera and camera platform technologies. Aerial Advantage has been working closely with MPS since 2012, providing innovative imagery solutions, utilising the latest drone camera platforms. After working effectively together on several projects, Anthony Shorten's AA and David Millar's MPS felt that by merging, their clients would benefit greatly from the amalgam of experience and innovation.
