ADVENT Engineering Services Inc. was founded in 1988 by four engineers (Ravi Baliga, Jeff Shulman, Neal Watts, and Albert Dyrness) who shared a passion for technical innovation, customer service, and business integrity. ADVENT began by providing consulting services to operators of National Laboratories for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The N... ational Labs included Hanford, Idaho Falls, Los Alamos, and Savannah River. With a reputation for using leading-edge, mechanical and structural modeling tools, ADVENT expanded its client base from operators of DOE Labs to operators of commercial nuclear power plants in the U.S., Asia, and Europe. ADVENT supported the re-fueling outages for several facilities; and while providing this support, ADVENT's innovation and awareness of occupational safety spawned several patents for Integral Head Assembly (IHA) designs. The designs allow the vessel heads of reactors to be replaced with components integrally attached facilitating the efficient replacement of fuel rods while minimizing workers' exposure to harmful radiation. As ADVENT's expertise grew in working on meticulously planned projects with rigid timelines for energy industry clients with vast amounts of intellectual property who were operating under complex, highly-visible regulatory requirements, ADVENT sought opportunities to bring their expertise to similarly situated clients in another industry, namely, the biopharmaceutical industry. In 1995, ADVENT split into two divisions: one to continue serving the energy industry and another to begin serving the biopharmaceutical industry. Since its creation, the Life Sciences division (formerly Biotechnology group) has provided consulting services to dozens of clients that manufacture and develop biopharmaceutical drugs at facilities spread across the U.S., Puerto Rico, Canada, Asia, and Europe.
