Douglas Stramel received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 1991. In 1994 he was accepted as an intern with the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center (DVSC). While at DVSC he gained extensive knowledge in advanced surgical techniques. Dr. Stramel is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Anim... al Hospital Association, International Veterinary Academy of Pain Medicine (IVAPM), and International Association for the Study of Pain and American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. He sits as Chair of Advisory Council on Pain Management through IVAPM, which is dedicated to publishing pain management guidelines in the field of veterinary medicine. In the inaugural year of 2009, he received the credentials of Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner and is the first and only veterinarian to receive this credentialing in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He contracts through Pfizer Animal Health to provide continuing education presentations and wet labs on the topics of anesthesia and pain management to local practitioners. Dr. Stramel is also certified in Regenerative Cell Therapy , using adult derived stem cells to treat a wide variety of conditions as well as being certified with PennHIP. He is currently undergoing certification in canine rehabilitation through the University of Tennessee. Dr Stramel runs and operates Advanced Care Veterinary, PA; a business he started in 2005 to provide relief services and pain management consultations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Dr. Stramel serves as a board member of Mustard Seed Outreach a non-profit organization that helps with the needs of retired pastors , pastors who are in need and families staying at Ronald McDonald House.
