Advance Door Systems

Advance Door Systems was started in 1984 in a back alley shop on the thirteen block of Lorne Street in Regina. It had only three employees and 4,000 sq. ft. of production/warehouse/office space. In 1990, growth required a move to 1270 Fleury Street to a building with 9,000 sq. ft. and now 10 employees. In 1998, the next move was a large one, all th... e way to 34 Great Plains Rd in Emerald Park. The new facility was a great deal larger. With 34,000 sq. ft. and sixteen employees, there was more than enough space. In 2003, Brent Slater purchased Advance and it did not take him long to grow the business enough to fill all that empty space. As growth continued, more racking was added, and stock rearranged until the warehouse was filled to the brim. When Brent took over Advance, there were only eleven people in production. This number grew steadily until 2011, when we had approximately 40 workers in production. All these people needed space and equipment to work with, so the production area was revamped a few times and more equipment and tools were purchased. Again, Advance Door Systems was full to capacity, but Brent was bound to a 10 year lease agreement with the previous owner. Because of this limitation, he had to pass on many growth opportunities that were available, and this frustration continued for the last four years. With the lease coming to an end, Brent was finally able to start planning the next move, and when the former Twin Arenas came up for sale, Brent pounced. Against some very stiff competition, Brent was successful in purchasing the 68,000 sq. ft. buildings and fifteen acres of land as well. Located just outside of Regina on Diefenbaker Avenue, north of the CTV tower, this new facility will be more convenient for customers, staff and our shipping department alike.
