Founded in 1983, Adaptive Networks remains privately owned and managed by Michael and David Propp after more than 30 years in business. Headquartered near Boston, our company has built a substantial body of resources for advanced engineering R&D, an impressive portfolio of intellectual property, and has established itself as the leading developer a... nd provider of industrial powerline communication technology and products. While earning his PhD at MIT, Michael Propp became intrigued with the advances in microprocessors and the growing ubiquity of their practical use. He envisioned the potential for using powerlines for effective network communications, through the integration of microprocessor-based intelligence across the network infrastructure. After four years of intensive research and development, Adaptive Networks introduced its first product, the AN192 Evaluation Unit. A subsequent string of technological innovations led to the development of our AN192 Series. Building on this foundation of intellectual property, insight and real-world application experience, Adaptive embarked on a substantial R&D effort to scale up our proven technology, which yielded the AN1000 Series.
