We're on a mission to make transport in the UK more sustainable. We help people and organisations to meet their travel needs in ways that support community well-being, protect and enhance the environment and improve public health. We're focused on building expertise and experience in travel behaviour change and transport demand management - by prov... iding training and events, tools and resources, marketing support and collaborative partnerships. We support UK organisations of all sizes seeking to shift away from single-occupancy car use and increase the uptake of walking, cycling, public transport and shared transport. Our members and supporters help us to achieve our mission in numerous ways, from hosting meetings, writing case studies, serving as volunteer trainers, conducting research or serving as Regional Representatives or Board Directors. Act TravelWise was formed in 2008 from a merger of The Association for Commuter Transport (ACT) and the National TravelWise Association (NTWA). Both organisations had been working to promote travel behaviour change since the mid-1990s. We are now a not-for-profit membership association focused on the public benefits of implementing sustainable travel initiatives, campaigns and related advocacy work.Read More
