ACRON is the trade association for Contract Research Organizations (CROs) in the Netherlands. It represents the collective interests of its member companies by organizing both closed and open meetings, networking activities, and lobbying, with the primary goal of enabling the Netherlands to function optimally as a research destination. Together wit... h its partners, ACRON works to optimize the Netherlands as a country for clinical research, and through its expertise in various external working groups, ensures the visibility of CROs as important partners in clinical research. Founded in 1995, ACRON is historically the association of Dutch CROs and SMOs, and also aims to connect with all colleagues who offer their services and expertise in the field of clinical research in the Netherlands on a contractual basis, including freelancers and independent contractors. The association represents the sector in dealings with the business community and government. Clinical research is an important step in the continuous improvement of healthcare, particularly for patients participating in studies and for sponsors. Improving the quality and conditions on behalf of its members is therefore one of ACRON's primary objectives.
