The Accounting for Schools (AFS) team includes Chartered Accountants, meaning we provide important insight and plain English guidance around finances. We understand that a board of trustees may struggle to make sense of the financial reporting process, and we see one of our key roles as decoding the numbers. Our in-depth knowledge in the accounting... and education sectors is a result of many year's experience through both our sister firm All Accounted For, and our strong relationships with 70+ New Zealand schools. We fully understand all the key accounting and financial issues that schools face, and recognise the importance of quantifying a school's financial position to facilitate future planning. We are experts in explaining the 'dark art' of managing teacher entitlements, 10-year property plans, cyclical maintenance and in more recent times, the key issues surrounding lease arrangements. We use modern online systems, specifically Xero, to deliver schools increased transparency, understanding, and control of their finances. This allows principals, executive officers and trustees to make informed and timely decisions when investing in learning resources.
