We have been involved with delivering AAT training since 1992/93 and sat on the AAT's Education & Training Implementation Group that oversaw the transition from the previous qualification structure to the current NVQ/Diploma structure that has underpinned its success as the lead accounting qualification for Apprenticeships in Accounting. Our team w... ere one of only two providers in the country to achieve Certification in the Training Quality Standard with Excellence in Accounting, and we were the first. The second was Halesowen College. We were both one of only 6 Centres of Vocational Excellence in Accounting and knew each other well, having met regularly at CoVE events and at the annual AAT conferences. Rather than be jealous of our accolade we were delighted to support Halesowen in their own application, including a day's consultancy when they visited us in our South West lair for guidance and input into their successful bid. In 2012 we sold our main classroom training business to the local college in order to focus on developing distance learning courses, underpinned by our development and use of e-learning as well as our very personal approach to providing tutor support. We are now assisted by three other AAT tutors, Jenna Mayne (who also has a BSc degree in Business Economics and Accounting), Neil Montgomery (who also has a Masters Degree) and Emma Bass (who has also just started her ACA training).
