ABC Music

ABC Music Co. has been a fundamental part of Salem's history since 1961. Dave's grandfather originally opened a hardware store right in this very location. Eventually, the mantle was passed down to Dave's parents who opened ABC Music Co. and have been running it ever since! A multi-instrumentalist and a genuinely nice fella! Dan oversees the daily... operations of the store and is a graduate of the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences in Tempe, Arizona with an emphasis in Audio Engineering. Dave grew up at ABC Music while his parents ran the store and has been continuing their legacy ever since. He has a Bachelors Degree in Business Admin. from Oregon State University, Class of 1978. Dave has also earned credentials from training with Fender Musical Instruments, Peavey Electronics, and the Yamaha Music Corporation. Dave Higginbotham has been repairing and restoring musical instruments for many years. Dave received a degree from the City College of San Francisco and graduated from the Electronic Music Department. Dave then made visits to Fender Musical Instruments in California to gain insight into the art of setting up guitars. Dave takes extra care in setting-up all stringed instruments at ABC Music, and is ready to assist with guitar repairs and/or adjustments. Troy is the store's newest employee! While originally just looking for a second part-time job, Troy found a job that allows him to work alongside his deepest passion. Troy is currently attending University of Oregon in Eugene, OR to further his musical knowledge and to pursue a career in music.Read More
