A Sweet Design was established in 2007 as a boutique cake and cupcake shop, located in San Fernando Valley. A Sweet Design specializes in amazing cake flavor combinations and one-of-a-kind designs. Every single order created is held to the highest standard using only top quality ingredients. Whether it's a custom cake for the most important day of... your life or a dozen cupcakes for a celebration, flavor and taste are just as important as design. Owner, Allison Thomas, born and raised here in the San Fernando Valley, took off to Colorado after High School. It was at Johnson and Wales University in Denver where Allison really developed the passion of cake decorating. All students were required to complete an internship and Allison knew she had to do hers at A Sweet Design. After being accepted for the internship, she flew back to California and spent her days icing cakes, decorating, hand painting fondant pieces, and just falling in love with all things cake. After graduating with a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts, Allison was pleased to be hired on full time and now working side by side with Joeleen and Miguel Medina, The original founders of A Sweet Design. In the years to follow, Allison took her experience and opened a small business called, Bonza Bakery, She fulfilled many cake and cupcake orders gaining popularity with the local TV Studios as well. Outgrowing the current space, Allison was determined to take this to the next level, and it was then that She reconnected to where it all began and took the opportunity to purchase A Sweet Design.
