At Notton House School, our aim is to create a stimulating learning environment to enable students to develop scientific skills and become enthusiastic and scientifically literate young people. Our KS3 science course is tailored to the new 2014 curriculum and will support students through KS3 and prepare them for science at KS4. At KS4 there are two routes: The Edexcel Certificate in Science (Double Award) which aims to impart a systematic body of scientific knowledge and facts, and an understanding of scientific concepts, principles, themes and patterns. It develops experimental skills based on correct and safe laboratory techniques, as well as students' ability to form hypotheses and design experiments to test them. And for students for whom terminal examinations are a challenge. WJEC Science Today Entry Level which is designed to enable different units to be combined to create programmes of study suited to individual learners' needs.
