Marian University

Marian University, established in 1936, is a private, non-profit Roman Catholic institution dedicated to higher education. Originally founded in Oldenburg, Indiana, by the Sisters of St. Francis, it relocated to Indianapolis in 1937. The university officially became Marian University on July 1, 2009, evolving from its predecessor, Marian College. It is religiously affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church, stemming from the vision of Sister Theresa Hackelmeier.
