Arcadia Retirement Residence Inc is Hawaii's first accredited Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), founded by Central Union Church and established in 1967 to provide comprehensive retirement living in an urban Honolulu setting with convenient access to the city's social, cultural, educational, and entertainment amenities. (c)(3) nonprofit corporation since 1987, Arcadia serves over 300 residents across a 13-story tower residence that includes 250 independent living apartments, assisted living units, a 91-bed licensed nursing facility, and four boarder beds. The community offers an extensive range of integrated servicesincluding healthcare, dining, housekeeping, and securityalongside amenities such as a solarium, library, on-site clinic, wellness and fitness center, crafts studio, and chapel designed to support active and engaged retirement living. Arcadia has demonstrated sustained commitment to facility modernization and resident care through significant capital investments, including a $10 million renovation completed in 1999 and a subsequent $5 million renovation of the lower level, nursing facility, and first floor completed in 2013, with ongoing upgrades to common areas and independent living units. The organization fulfills its charitable mission through the Arcadia Foundation, established in 1998 as a support organization that provides financial assistance to residents who have exhausted their resources and extends support to seniors throughout the greater Honolulu community, while Arcadia Elder Services, established in 2001, provides additional community-focused programming and support.
