6th Day Dance

6th Day Dance is a non-profit dance company that uses professional dance works for the purpose of impacting people of all cultures in a positive and uplifting way. The company was founded in 2001 by Lyndee Breece, April Cunningham and Jennifer Rowse and achieved non-profit status in 2005. 6th Day strives for creative excellence through the use of d... ance in fulfilling its three-fold mission of performing professional dance works, outreaching to underserved populations, and providing professional dance training to the community. 6th Day Dance currently runs a free drop in hip hop class for Renton teens every Thursday night at Harambee Community Center. Additionally, beginning in September 2010, 6th Day began providing dance classes to people with developmental disabilities. Dance First began its twelve week session in September. These classes use dance therapy techniques to explore the nature of all movement and allows each class member to internally work on procedural memory chaining, self esteem, self image, relationship building, and exploration of the world around them through movement.
