Now for 2002, CCM has created the Externo, a new line of skates for today's contemporary, cutting-edge hockey players - those who crave action, speed, thrills and the high per... formance gear that will allow them to play at their best. Externo skates are already being worn in the NHL by Boston Bruins star Joe Thornton, Boris Mironov of the Chicago Blackhawks and Mats Timander of the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Externo line features the industry's first exoskeleton support system, CCM's proprietary Externo-Skel technology. Externo-Skel adds lateral and medial support to the outside of the skate, which increases stability and comfort in the areas where hockey players need it. The exoskeleton also provides unsurpassed resistance to abrasion and durability. Since modern-day hockey players also prize style as well as function, Externo-Skel gives the Externo the edgy and rugged look that they prefer. The Externo-Skel technology is complemented in the Externo line by CCM's new Reflex-Bar technology. The Reflex-Bar optimizes the flex zone of the skate, which allows the skater to flex his or her foot forward in a natural and controlled manner. The result for the skater is increased agility and more efficient energy transfer. The Externo line was designed using CCM's Form Intensive Technology (F-I-T-) System, the unifying technology across all CCM product categories. Thus, the E-60, E-50 and E-40 models of Externo skates are compatible with CCM's revolutionary F-I-T- Machine custom-fitting process.
