1205 Distillery

12.05 Distillery and Repeal Restaurant are located in the historic Virginia Ave State Bank building. Commissioned in late 1924, The Virginia Ave State Bank was designed by local architect Fermor Spencer Cannon. The building was built atop and existing limestone foundation and brick wall. You can still see the letting "Clean Lasting" on the original... brick wall in Repeal. The bank closed in 1933 and remained vacant until 1944 when it was purchased by Russell Wagner. Wagner moved his family from Anderson in 1945 into the rear of the bank building that he had renovated into an apartment. During this renovation, an alley opening to the rear of the building, between the bank and the adjacent building, was enclosed and abandoned and was only discovered during the restaurant renovation. The Wagner family has owned the property until it was purchased by Bill and Teresa Webster in 2013. The buildings housed several business over the years including a tea house, neighborhood medical clinic, salvage shop and most recently a shop selling homemade soaps and consignment crafts. Our goal, given the era the bank was active, was to brand the distillery and restaurant in a way that would pay tribute to the bank's rich history. Much of the build out was performed by us as well as family and close friends. 12.05 Distillery is owned by Teresa Webster and is the only 100% woman owned distillery in the state. Our goal at 12.05 is to give the people of Indiana quality spirits made with local ingredients. We do this with the help of our Master Distiller, Brad Colver. Brad had been distilling for about 5 years and was perfecting his craft in Colorado when we started the beginning stages of opening 12.05. Brad moved from Colorado in 2014 and began helping with the build out of our restaurant and distillery.
