100minds.org was founded by Declan Egan in 2013 to financially support Irish children's charities by bringing together some of Ireland's top college students and challenging them to run their own fundraising projects. Alongside a co-founding team comprising Tony Ennis, Kevin Cassidy, Richard Whelan, and a group of original mentors, they launched 10... 0minds into the brand it is today. The project was founded on three core principles: Impact, Inspire, and Educate. Its objectives are to provide large financial aid for organizations that care for and support vulnerable Irish children, while also assisting college students in gaining access to young professionals for mentorship, CV support, and project management skill development. In its first year, students generated 138,000 euros for the patients of Temple Street Hospital. From 2013 to 2016, 100minds supported three more children's charities including Barnardos Ireland, Blossom Ireland, and ISPCC Childline, generating 247,000 euros in year two and 570,000 euros in year three.
